Sinds ruim vijftien jaar wordt er door de British-Kuwait Friendship Society jaarlijks een prijs uitgereikt voor een in het voorafgaande jaar verschenen studie over het Midden-Oosten. Remke Kruk, emiritus hoogleraar Arabisch, won de tweede prijs.
