Ethische toetsing gaat onder andere over de bescherming van de onderzoeksparticipanten en onderzoekers en die bescherming is gelijk ongeacht wie het onderzoek uitvoert. Pedagogische Wetenschappen onderwijst studenten in de ethische aspecten van onderzoek doen.

Onderwijsminister Jet Bussemaker kreeg op de Dag van de Excellentie op 20 juni een exemplaar van ‘Chemistry in Conflict’, een educatief boek over de rol van chemie in oorlogsvoering. Ludo Juurlink, directeur van het Junior Science Lab, overhandigde het boek.
