Hoe transformeren verzekeringsproducten intieme en persoonlijke relaties? Wat zijn de gevolgen van de classificaties die verzekeringsmaatschappijen gebruiken en hoe beïnvloeden deze solidariteit, moraliteit en ongelijkheid?

Mensen verliezen steeds meer zeggenschap op sociale media. Een team van rechtsgeleerden van de Universiteit Leiden, computerwetenschappers van andere universiteiten en maatschappelijke organisaties onderzoekt de machtsverhoudingen tussen Big Tech en gebruikers.

Het Data Science Onderzoeksprogramma (DSO) combineert Leidse promotieonderzoeken uit allerlei disciplines met data science. Het programma loopt nu ruim twee jaar, en levert verrassende eerste resultaten op. Hieronder vertellen een aantal promovendi over hun ervaringen en hun onderzoek.
