Over the last three decades, the discovery of exoplanets has revealed the boundless variety of worlds beyond our own Solar System⁠. Majority of planetary systems contain short-period planets that are larger than Earth but smaller than Neptune⁠.

We find ourselves in an era of transition, not just towards a more computing- and data-driven society but also away from unsustainable fossil fuels as an energy source.

Vanwege het snel toenemende probleem van multiresistente ziekteverwekkers, is er een grote behoefte aan nieuwe antibiotica. Er is dus ook behoefte aan hun producenten: de actinomyceten. Deze bacteriën zijn verantwoordelijk voor ongeveer 70 procent van de huidige antibiotica.
