Congres/symposium | Education Lunch Break at Faculty of Science
A classic teaching approach for online
- donderdag 12 november 2020
- Virtual Lunch Room
Eat lunch and get inspired by best practices from colleagues!
This week's topic: When, in March, the lockdown came, Wagenaar didn’t have to change a lot in his teachings. Even though he uses a traditional approach to his lectures, he did already record his lectures. In addition, Wagenaar teaches at a secondary school (VWO) and uses this experience to make the transition for first year students from school to university as smoothly as possible by using educational methods they are familiar with and aligning the course content to their prior knowledge.
This Lunch Break will be hosted by Julia Cramer.
Join us every Thursday between 13.15 and 13.45!

About the Weekly Science Education Coffee Breaks
Sharing best practices
Creating online courses is still a huge challenge that takes a lot of effort. But, it also triggers a lot of inventiveness and creativity. Good to take a break and get inspired by colleagues from different courses, programmes and departments in the Faculty of Science.
Every week a different topic and guest speaker
Every Lunch Break, we will have a different 'Lunch guest' who will share their best practice with online education. Afterwards, we will have a Q&A and/or a discussion. The presentations by our Lunch guests will be recorded and made available. View the recordings archive for topics you might have missed.
