Our Data & Media team at Leiden Learning and Innovation Centre (LLInC) is looking for a:

Student Assistant - Developer (0,4 – 0,6 FTE)

As Student Assistant in our Data & Media (D&M) team you will work on web and software development for various applications and on different projects to support our developers and VR/AR/XR specialists. You will also support the team in developing our Tech Fusion studio, which has various applications including virtual production, motion capture and 3D scanning. You will be a true part of the team, joining in weekly team meetings, 6-weekly team work sessions and fairly frequent drinks and other social activities.


Key responsibilities

  • Write code, fix bugs, implement features, and in general support our developers.
  • Create Unity applications with a focus on 360 videos in VR.
  • Support development of our Tech Fusion studio
  • Document code and projects architecture.

Selection criteria

  • Student at Leiden University.
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (C#, Python and/or Javascript)
  • A hands-on mentality, willingness to learn new technologies and find technical solutions to problems.
  • Excited to work in an international environment.
  • Good command of English in both writing and speaking.
  • Knowledge of Unity 3D is a plus.
  • Knowledge of filming equipment and studio setup is a plus.
  • Experience with innovative technologies such as virtual production, motion capture and 3D scanning is a plus

Terms and conditions
Hiring takes place through the employment agency JobMotion. We offer this position for 12 months for 2 or 3 days per week with the option to extend the contract in case of mutual desire and need. The salary is based on your student status, BA, or Master in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. In this position it is possible to work partly at home and partly in our office in The Hague (hybrid working).
