Leidse wetenschappers gaan een bijdrage leveren aan de ontwikkeling van een camera voor de in aanbouw zijnde European Extremely Large Telescope. Op 28 september tekende de Nederlandse Onderzoekschool voor Astronomie een samenwerkingsovereenkomst met de European Southern Observatory.

Twee getalenteerde, recent gepromoveerde Leidse wetenschappers ontvangen een Rubicon-beurs van NWO. De beurs geeft hen de kans om tijdelijk te werken bij een buitenlands instituut dat de beste omgeving biedt voor hun onderzoek.
