Er zijn weer veel goede scripties geschreven het afgelopen jaar, en vier daarvan zijn genomineerd voor de Fruinprijs. Voor het eerst na de coronajaren kon deze prijs weer worden uitgereikt tijdens de opening van het academisch jaar van de opleiding Geschiedenis.

Meer autocratieën, minder gendergelijkheid en een groeiend anti-liberaal sentiment. Het zijn slechts een paar van de ontwikkelingen die hoogleraar Sarah Wolff signaleert in haar oratie over de toekomst van Europa. ‘De liberale wereldorde zoals we die in het Westen kennen, staat op het spel.’
