Toen in 2019 honderden afvalcontainers in de Waddenzee vielen, wilde de overheid geen informatie vrijgeven over wat er in de containers zat. Vijf jaar later weten we eindelijk meer, nadat hoogleraar Esther Kentin beroep deed op de Wet Open Overheid.

Twee weken ná 3 oktober lagen de Leidse grachten nog steeds vol met plastic wegwerpbekertjes. Auke-Florian Hiemstra heeft samen met medestudenten duizenden van deze bekertjes opgevist en gefotografeerd. Nu plaatsen zij elke dag één van deze 'canal cups' op Instagram.
