Toenemende studentenaantallen, steeds geavanceerdere hardware en infrastructuur, nieuwe eisen rondom dataveiligheid en -beheer, en de complexiteit van de kerncursussen informatica…

Al in de zandbak kreeg Yousef Sweid op zijn Joodse kleuterschool in Haifa te horen dat hij een stinkende Arabier is. In een volgepakte collegezaal speelde de Palestijns-Israëlische acteur een indrukwekkend stuk uit zijn voorstelling ‘Between the River and the Sea’.

Onderzoekers van de faculteit Wiskunde en Natuurwetenschappen werken elke dag aan de grenzen van het weten en aan oplossingen voor de maatschappelijke uitdagingen van nu. Hiervoor ontvangen zij subsidies, prijzen en andere onderscheidingen. Wij zetten hen in de schijnwerpers.
