Team Johans Angels van drie studenten van de Universiteit Leiden heeft zondag 21 november in Bremen de derde prijs behaald op het Noord West Europees kampioenschap programmeren. Door in vijf uur zeven algoritmische problemen op te lossen, wisten de jongens uit Leiden 64 teams achter zich te laten.

Drie Leidse studenten zijn geselecteerd voor de Yenching Academy, een prestigieus masterprogramma van Peking University. De studenten krijgen een full scholarship (collegegeld, huisvesting en toelage), en zullen samen met studenten van over de hele wereld interdisciplinair onderwijs volgen.

De studenten Sjors Keijzer en Kasper van Alphen wonnen op 29 juni de finale van de filmwedstrijd Student en Stad. Hun promotiefilm zet Leiden het best op de kaart als studentenstad.

Op de tweede dag van de Orientation Week Leiden verwelkomden we ruim 300 internationale studenten in het Kamerlingh Onnes Gebouw. Ze werden ontvangen met een warm welkom van het faculteitsbestuur, en de traditionele stroopwafel.
